The SilverLining Foundation Inc. provides independent housing in shared living environments. Residents are expected to respect the property, fellow residents, and community standards to maintain a safe and stable living environment.
*Residents must maintain a respectful and cooperative living environment.
Residents are expected to:
• Treat fellow residents, volunteers, and visitors with respect
• Avoid harassment, discrimination, or threatening behavior
• Maintain reasonable noise levels, especially during quiet hours
• Respect shared spaces such as kitchens, living rooms, and bathrooms
• Avoid disruptive behavior that negatively impacts other residents
*Shared housing environments require cooperation and consideration for others living in the home.
Property Care
Residents are responsible for helping maintain the cleanliness and condition of the property.
Residents must:
• Keep their private living space clean and sanitary
• Properly dispose of trash and recycling
• Clean shared areas after use
• Avoid damage to the property or furnishings
• Report maintenance issues promptly
Intentional damage to property may result in financial responsibility in accordance with lease agreements.
Safety Rules
Safety is important for all residents living in shared housing.
Residents must:
• Follow all fire safety procedures
• Avoid blocking exits or emergency access points
• Use appliances safely and responsibly
• Not tamper with smoke detectors or safety equipment
• Follow all local and state safety regulations
Illegal activity or behavior that endangers the safety of others is strictly prohibited.
Lease Compliance
*Residents must follow the terms outlined in their housing agreement or lease.
This includes:
• Paying rent or housing contributions on time
• Complying with property rules and policies
• Allowing reasonable access for maintenance or inspections as permitted by law
• Not subletting or allowing unauthorized occupants
*Failure to follow lease terms may result in corrective action consistent with housing policies and applicable laws.

Residents are responsible for arranging any medical, healthcare, or personal support services through providers of their choosing.
Guest Policy
Residents may have visitors provided that guests respect community rules and do not disrupt the shared living environment. Overnight guests may be limited or require prior approval depending on housing policies.
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours may be observed between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM to maintain a peaceful environment for all residents.
